Design Process
Ensure the success of future projects by having a reliable design process.

Why is the Design Process Important?
It ensures each project is done efficiently and meets all required standards.
My design process allows for me to cover all necessary details in completion of a project. This page goes in depth on how my design process works and provides a real life example.
6 Stages of the Design Process
1. Define
Define the problem or goal.
Example: Senior Drill Sergeant (SDS) wants a Hellhound mural on the classroom wall to commemorate his time as a Drill Sergeant. He tasks another artist and me with creating said mural.
2. Research
Conduct research and gather information.
Example: The other artist and I work as a duo to gather more information on the project, deciding what needs to be on the mural. SDS states he wants a large motif of the Hellhounds, names of everyone in the platoon, and the numbers for our unit, company, and drill cycle. These were his requirements for the mural.
3. Develop
Brainstorm and ideation for possible solutions.
Example: After collecting all necessary information, our duo began brainstorming illustrations for the Hellhounds and designing a mural that included all required information.
4. Present
Present the developed solutions for feedback.
Example: We came down to three distinctly different designs and took them to SDS for evaluation.
5. Evaluate & Improve
Evaluate our solutions and improve upon chosen designs.
Example: SDS evaluated and chose one of the three designs, having no notes for improvement.
6. Create
Create the final product.
Example:Once set on the final design, SDS asked us to make a list of items we needed to bring the mural to completion. Gathering a team of creatives, we started the hands-on process. It took one day to sketch the design onto the wall with graphite pencils. The next day we blocked in areas of color with wall-paint. On the third day, we added line art and additional detailing to fully complete the design. Upon presenting the final product, SDS was very pleased with the result and awarded both myself and my creative partner with signed Drill Sergeant pins to commemorate our hard work and dedication towards the platoon.
